Computer Software :-
Computer software is a set of instructions for a computer to perform specific operations or a set of instructions that tells the computer what is to be done with the input data. In computer terminology this set of instructions is called the program,and one or more programs is termed as software.

Different types of software:-
• System software
System software is responsible to handle the whole the computer system.This software manages various input output devices and enables the user to interact with the machine .
For example.- Operating systems softwares like DOS (Disk operating system), Windows, MAC etc.

• Application software
Software is specially suited for specific applications.
For example.- Railway and Airline reservation billing accounting. software which enables creation and storage of documents are termed as Application software.e.g. MS Office,photoshop etc.
• Embedded software
Embedded software is specialized by programming in a chip of device to control its functions. Embedded is a piece of software that is embedded in hardware or Non PC devices. It is written specifically for the particular hardware that it runs on and usually has processing and memory constraints because of the devices limited computing capabilities.
For e.g. washing machine,scanners, factory robots, modern smart watches, home lighting etc.

Open source software is a same as free software that the user have the freedom to run ,copy distribute, study and improve the software but some may give commercial look to this type of software and save it they give technical support for the software and may include other softwares to work open source software.
For e.g.Red hack software (Linux), Open office, Firefox etc.
