Functional block Diagram of computer:
A computer can process data, pictures, sound and graphics, they can solved high complicated problem quickly and accuracy. A computer as shown in following features performs basically Five major operations or functions irrespective of there size and make this are --
1]It aspects data or instructions by way of input.
2]It stores the data.
3]It can process data as required by the user.
4]It gives results in the form of output.
5]It controls all operations inside a computer.

As seen above block diagram there are three main parts (components) of computer.There are Input unit ,Output unit and CPU.
1• Input unit
The units which are used the input data to computer are known as Input unit.Input unit takes data from user in an organize manner for processing.
For e.g. Keyboard, Mouse, etc.
When user enters the data through the input device in primary storage device.

2• Output unit
The units which used to display results after processing are known as output unit.
For e.g. monitor, printer

3.CPU
CPU means central processing unit .The CPU is devided into three separate units for its operations they are -
Storage unit,control unit,and ALU.
The ALU and the control unit of the computer system are mainly known as Central processing Unit. CPU is the brain of computer system.
Parts of CPU -
1.Memory unit/Storage unit
The place where data or instructions are stored in computer are known as storage unit. There are two types of storage, Primary storage and secondary storage. Data has to be feed into the system before actual processing starts,It is because the processing unit is so fast .The data has to be provided to CPU with the same speed there for the data is first stored in primary storage for faster access and processing storage unit .provides space for storing data and instructions.
The storage unit performs the following functions-
1)All data and instructions are stored before and after processing.
2)Intermediate results of processing are also stored .
2.ALU
That actual processing of the data and instructions are perform by arithematic or logic unit. The major operations performed by ALU are addition, substraction, multiplication, division and comparison data is transfer to ALU from storage unit.when required after processing the output is return back to storage unit further processing or setting stored.
